On May 2nd in Washington, DC, the DefeatDD team hosted our first event of its kind: “Take the Plunge: A Pop-up Experience to Help Children Thrive.” 

Visitors experienced interactive learning stations from the Global Handwashing Partnership, Shot@Life, and Take On Typhoid; a movie theater screening recent DefeatDD videos; and large projections highlighting communities around the world and the solutions available to defeat diarrheal disease. 

Featured speakers included M.A. Keifer, Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s Office, and Serge Raharison, Senior Technical Advisor in Child Health for the Maternal and Child Survival Partnership (MCSP).
