PATH and Tearfund release new report to catalyze policymaker dialogue on diarrhoea

A new report, launched by PATH and Tearfund on April 25, 2012, at the World Health Congress on Public Health in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, calls for urgent action to prevent diarrhoeal disease, the biggest killer of children in sub-Saharan Africa.

Diarrhoea Dialogues: From Policies to Progress reviews national policies and strategies to control diarrhoea in three African countries: Ethiopia and Mali, where diarrhoea is the leading cause of death in children less than five years old, and Zambia, where the burden is also high.The report provides recommendations based on research findings and calls for global and national decision-makers to take coordinated action  to overcome challenges and address diarrhoea by engaging in dialogue and working together to save lives.
